Music & Technology
My life has been steeped in music, especially church music. When I was a boy, much of my family’s life revolved around their Catholic church and its music. I was born in Corning, NY and moved with my family to Pennsylvania at the age of 5. I started studying piano at the age of 10. I went to Marywood University in Scranton and studied music for 2 years. After earning an undergraduate degree in Communications, I accepted a job at WOLF-TV, now Fox 56. After 6 years I decided to accept a position at Marywood University as the Coordinator of Broadcast Operations where I've worked for the past 29 years.
I have worked in music ministry roles for nearly 41 years. At the age of 15 I started singing in the church choir at Saint Mary’s of the Assumption Church in Jessup. Then at the age of 29, I became the director of their newly formed folk group. When Saint Mary’s closed, I decided to join Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. In 2012, I became a cantor and then later was hired as their Music Minister and Organist.
I have three children that also share my love of music- Torey, Ernest Anthony and Jonathan. I also have a grandson, Beau. I take seriously the “ministry” in “music ministry.” Moreover, I view myself as providing music that inspires people along their faith journeys. What is most important to me is the quality of the music and its appropriateness to the worship theme. I truly believes that Music touches us both spiritually and emotionally, where words alone can’t.
