WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6th A special MASS OF REMEMBRANCE will be celebrated on Wednesday evening, November 6, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. with a light reception to follow in Holy Family Hall. All of the names of those buried from our church in the past year will be acknowledged during the liturgy with a special presentation. At this mass, we will also remember all of your deceased family members and friends. Our parish community has the opportunity to come together and to support one another as we pray for all those who have gone before us. Please plan to attend and bring your family and friends. Eternal rest grant unto them, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish 3rd Annual Purse Bingo will be held next Sunday, November 10, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. in Holy Family Hall. Donations of raffle baskets are still needed and welcomed! 17 Cursillo Ultryea
On Sunday, Nov. 17th from 2-4 p.m. SHJ will be hosting an Ultryea in Holy Family Hall. What is Cursillo Ultryea? Ultryea is a Spanish word, derived from the original Latin, meaning Onward! Cursillo is Spanish for little course, Specifically in the teachings of Jesus. The goal of the Cursillo Movement is to make Christ the prime influence in society. Cursillo is often described as a retreat. While there is quiet time and reflection, there is more discussion among peers than in most retreats. Perhaps, it is best described as an experience of living in the Christian community. Come and see what Cursillo is all about. Meet wonderful, solid Catholics from your parish and beyond. Open to all! Our Faith Formation program will be collecting much needed non-perishable food items on the weekends of Nov. 9/10, Nov. 16/17 and Nov. 23/24 to be distributed to area families in need. Items can be placed in drop-off baskets at each entryway of the Church or the Parish Center. Please help us make this Thanksgiving blessed and plentiful for all.
